In honor of celebrating our first wedding anniversary this week, I wanted to share some special photos and details with you about "the big day" that I haven't shared before. I can't quite describe the love that I felt at our wedding, it was overwhelming in all the best ways.
Here is how I got through the day, MWH style:
I woke up that morning and it was pouring rain, cloudy and nasty out. First thing I did? Meditate and pray for nothing to disturb my peace and to let all the love move through me to everyone else around me. It's amazing how taking time to sit in stillness opens up your heart to focus on the things that really matter. I went outside to get my sisters some things and the wind took my umbrella...you would have thought it was 90 degrees with sunshine and rainbows the way I was still skipping along. I didn't have a care in the world, thanks to my meditation. My practice set the tone for the day (p.s I meditated two more times before the actual ceremony), and I carried that sense of ease with me with every step I took. The love in that room filled my heart in a way I have never experienced before - I wish this for every bride and groom. Now my best advice for anyone on their wedding day is this: meditate. It reminds you why you're there in the first place and to let go of any drama that isn't serving you in order to focus on the present and what truly matters.
