My mornings are really important to me, they are mine and B's alone time. For this reason, I try and schedule everything work wise between 11AM and 5PM. The truth is, that's what I try to do...but that isn't the always the case. I know there are MANY moms out there who have to wake up and go...whether you have 5 minutes or 3 hours, you have to make it work for you.


I’m really working on waking up before B right now so I can do my meditation practice before he wakes up. On days that he is my alarm clock, as soon as he starts screaming MaMaaaa I get out of bed and as my feet hit the floor I say what 3 things I’m extremely grateful for. Then I pick up my phone (away from my nightstand) to see what time it is then put it right back down without reading any messages or going on Instagram. It’s taken a lot of time and discipline not to look at my phone first thing in the morning but it’s helped reduce so much anxiety in my life that I refuse to now. I always splash cold water on my face to help wake me up and wash off anything negative that I was holding onto from the day before. I think of it as washing away what is not serving me.


I kiss B so many times it’s annoying when I see that little face then go to the kitchen and make some warm water with lemon.

After the water it’s either English breakfast tea with rice or coconut milk or a coconut milk latte (when I’m not on a personal coffee free challenge!).

Meditation practice if I don’t get in this on before B wakes up I take 25 minutes to first read my lesson in A Course In Miracles (workbook in back of book), then a 20 minute meditation with a prayer at the end.
